What Does CO₂ Neutrality Mean at Protectstar?

Being CO₂-neutral means we measure all our emissions and systematically offset them. We reduce emissions wherever possible—through the use of renewable energy, energy-efficient hardware, and software optimizations. Any remaining emissions are balanced through verified climate protection projects, allowing us to bring our net CO₂ output down to zero.

Our Goals Through 2027

We’ve set an ambitious target to make our entire business and all our processes fully environmentally friendly by 2027 at the latest. We follow a clear strategy to achieve this:

Increasing Energy Efficiency

• We use green data centers and power our website with 100% renewable energy.
• We continuously optimize our apps and security solutions to require as few resources as possible, resulting in minimal power consumption.

Conserving Resources and Reducing Waste

• By embracing digital workflows, we aim to further minimize paper usage and office waste.
• Responsible use of materials and recycling strategies also help reduce our environmental footprint.

Responsible Procurement and Production

• When selecting hardware and services, we prioritize sustainable supply chains and prefer partners that operate with a similar environmental mindset.
• Long-term partnerships with organizations dedicated to environmental protection support our objectives.

Transparency and Communication

• We provide regular reports and updates on our progress toward climate neutrality.
• We want to actively involve our customers, for example by offering tips on how to use our software in an energy-efficient way.

Offsetting Remaining Emissions

• For emissions we have yet to eliminate, we support international climate protection projects (such as reforestation or expanding renewable energy) to offset these residual CO₂ emissions.
